Grand Opening Exhibition - We Love Korea

The appeal of art transcends language and national boundaries, bringing people together. Whitestone Gallery has taken a new step forward to embody this spirit. On September 2, 2023, Whitestone Gallery Seoul celebrated its grand opening, a city that has recently become a major presence in the art scene. This is the first time that a Japan-based gallery has entered the Korean art scene, and is attracting a great deal of attention.

Whitestone Gallery Seoul is located in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Namsan, rich in nature, is not only a popular tourist attraction with Seoul Tower at its center, but also a place of relaxation for the citizens of Seoul due to its abundant nature. The interior design of the gallery was overseen by world-renowned architect Kengo Kuma, and the gallery has been transformed to blend in with the beautiful landscape of Seoul. From the rooftop where the sculptures are displayed, visitors can enjoy a magnificent view of Seoul and the lush greenery backdrop of Mt. Namsan.

On the opening day of Seoul Space, artist Miwa Komatsu held a live painting at Bongeunsa Temple in Gangnam-gu. The exciting live painting has been followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the opening party, which was attended by VIPs from home and abroad, the press, and enthusiastic art lovers.

The following week, Whitestone Gallery will celebrate its grand opening with a collaborative event with the art media "Artsy" and an exhibition at the art fair "Kiaf", which will be held at the same time as Frieze Seoul.
