DONALD CAMERON

Donald Cameron was born in New York City and received an MFA in Painting from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2007. In that same year he held an exhibition at the Museum of New Art in Michigan, and an artwork was acquired by the Cranbrook Art Museum. Cameron has held several solo exhibitions at Packer Schopf Gallery in Chicago, and later at Shotaro Yoshino Projects in Tokyo.

Cameron paints on top of digital prints, combining a graphic design process with traditional oil painting to create a hybrid medium with unusual characteristics. His paintings involve patterns and layers, sometimes in combination with repeating imagery, that confuse the boundaries of digital and handmade artistic media.
