MANABU MORITA
Playful styles, selection of mediums fit with the times- the works of Morita Manabu, who is supported by not only young but also a wide range of generations, give the viewers a feeling of freedom unrelated to any medium. The tendency is especially remarkable in his usage of "white", his representative color. "White" - the color of consequence, in which all the vivid colors are absorbed - accentuates three dimensional charms to the works.
Apparently wearing a light atmosphere, his point of view increases profundity every time we look at; it is affected by his enormous amount of consumption of animations and comic strips from his childhood. His metallic sculptural work, looks as if the moment of birth were scooped out by the sharp-edged tool, features as contrast several scatters of green color simultaneously, emitting swinging time-axis. Thus, things in reality are simplified in unrealistic ways – it is also a kind of cartoon-like interpretation. On the other hand, his canvas works consist of multilayered different mediums; they attract the viewers with its digital taste by evoking very "layers" in the production process of animation.
The world of Morita Manabu, which reflects his exquisite freestyle of life, has been giving a strong impact on various fields of people and receiving higher attention as an artist of the years to come.
