In response to the coronavirus pandemic, the global atmosphere took a somber turn, prompting artists to embrace vivid colors in their works.

Before the pandemic, art was satirical, and reality existed as an optimistic fantasy. After the pandemic, the real world took on a satirical tone, inspiring me to spread positivity through art. I persist in using characters as my creative theme, and in this exhibition, I intentionally bring art closer to the audience through easily understood symbols.

Sachiko Kamiki

This showcase employs highly recognizable symbolic characters and objects, including Monroe, ballerinas, Alice, Haribo, etc., aiming to demystify the challenge of "what is being depicted" in the contemporary art context through a symbolic painting language. This approach facilitates easier entry into the contemporary art world for the audience and diminishes aversions resulting from a lack of understanding about contemporary art contexts. Kamiki aspires to assist audiences in embracing the contemporary art world through engaging content and vibrant colors.
