Foot (Kazuo Shiraga)

Kazuo Shiraga invented a style of painting in which he painted with his bare feet, which is thought to have evolved from the action of "Challenging the mud".
The act of using his feet to glide is a style unique to Japan and can be likened to the foot-pulling of martial arts such as judo or the sliding steps called shuffle in dance. On screens the course and traces of the author's actions are recorded directly.
