PROFILE

Born in 1991, Clément Denis lives and works in Monet’s house in Vétheuil, France. He graduated from the Fine arts School of Paris and was awarded the BV Collectors Award in 2019. Denis’ works draw inspiration from mythology, literature, poetry and major events of the 20th and 21st century. He is a poet, a sensitive spiritualist whose approach to art is a very physical one, he paints in acrylic with his hands quickly spreading the color on large canvases or sheets of heavy paper; he also works in mosaics of Murano glass. The themes of his creation range from nostalgic landscape, man’s inner world, the spiritual journey of man’s soul, to the exile and wanderings of migrants from the Middle East or Africa. His style of painting and palette of color vary from the subject explored, and he got inspired from old and contemporary masters, feeling himself as a link to the chain of the European humanist artistic tradition.
