このたびホワイトストーンギャラリー軽井沢では、ARTIST miu「The Light展」を開催致します。
ARTIST miuの作品には重厚感と明快さが同居しています。セメントで塗り固められ無機質なブロックと化したパネルは空虚な物質でしかありませんが、画面上に点在する窪みに流し込まれたエポキシ樹脂を利用した透明感ある着色部分が、セメント部分と対比され極めて清涼な魅力を発しています。作家はその部分をそれぞれ“負の要素”と“要への転換”であると語り、暗雲立ち込める現代社会を意識した制作を続けています。ARTIST miuの作品上にきらめくカラーポイントはそんな現代に差し込む光の様相であり、喜びや希望、明るさや楽しさを象徴しているのでしょう。新作を含むARTIST miuの作品が一堂に展観される今展を、是非ご高覧くださいませ。

ARTIST
Born in 1975 in Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture, ARTIST miu is a graduate of Takarazuka University of Art and Design Painting Course. She studied under Shozo Shimamoto, a former member of the Gutai Art Association, and learned the spirit of the Gutai - creating something that has yet to exist. Her works pursue the concept of converting the negative, cold element associated with cement into a positively charged art piece bursting with vitality to invoke love and hope in the minds of our modern society.
