SENKO TAKAHASHI
SENKO TAKAHASHI
Senko Takahashi drew inspiration from Buddha statues and the prints of Kitagawa Utamaro and Tōshūsai Sharaku. Upon returning to Japan, he continued to develop his original artistic style, utilising layering techniques based on his experiences with manual photo composition in New York. Takahashi demonstrates expertise in freely expressing shadows and colours, often employing human faces and bodies as motifs. His artworks frequently feature layered and interconnected representations of past, present, and future, expressing the complexity and interplay of different experiences throughout one’s life.
